BMW Door Projectors Fitting Guide

Fitting Guides / BMW door projectors

Use this illustrated guide to replace compatible existing BMW door lights with matching AHC HD LED door projectors. Check your vehicle against the product's fitment information and compare the original light, size and connector before fitting.

Check before starting

AHC projector sizes: short 50mm / long 70mm. These are replacement lights for vehicles with compatible existing powered door lights. A reflector or blank cover is not a powered light. Do not force connectors or modify wiring to fit an incompatible unit.

How to fit BMW door projectors

  1. Check and prepare. Park safely, switch the ignition off and open the door. Confirm the replacement matches your original light and connector. Allow a hot lamp to cool before handling it.
  2. Release the light. At the release notch, use a plastic trim tool to gently release the retaining clip. Lower the unit carefully. Do not force the trim or pull on the wires.
  3. Unplug the original. Support the light, release the connector latch if fitted and pull the plug from the housing. Grip the connector, not the cable.
  4. Connect and test. Plug in the new projector until secure. Check the projected image on the ground before clipping it into place. Check left/right markings where supplied. If the light times out, close and reopen the door.
  5. Clip into place. Locate the fixed end first, then press the retaining-clip end into the opening until secure and flush. Keep wiring clear. If it will not seat easily, stop and check fitment.
  6. Final check. Repeat on the other door. Check both projections and confirm the lights switch off when the doors close.
